Residency - Theriogenology
Residency in Theriogenology - Large animal reproduction, comparative
University of Florida Veterinary Medicine
2-year clinical residency in comparative theriogenology (reproduction) with training in equine, and secondarily, small animal and ruminant (large and small) reproduction. The goal is successful completion of the American College of Theriogenologists certifying exam. The resident will participate in both in-house and ambulatory equine cases with breeding management in mares using cooled and frozen semen, embryo transfer, care of high risk pregnancies, semen evaluation, semen cryopreservation and reproductive behavioral conditions, participation in food and small animal reproduction, and hospitalized small ruminant patients with reproductive diseases. The resident is responsible for emergency duty for in-house reproductive emergencies, with additional compensation provided.
