University of Florida Veterinary Medicine
The University of Florida offers a 3-year residency program in cardiology to prepare talented veterinarians for a career in academic veterinary medicine or specialty practice. Board certification by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Specialty of Cardiology is the primary goal of the program. Emphasis is placed on clinical medicine, teaching and clinical research. Residents have primary case responsibility on the cardiology service under direct faculty supervision. The caseload is primarily composed of dogs and cats, however, consultations for horses, cattle, and other large animals, as well as various exotic species are common.
