Small Animal Internal Medicine
University of Florida Veterinary Medicine
The University of Florida’s residency program is designed to prepare talented veterinarians for a career in academic veterinary medicine or specialty practice. Residents spend the majority of their time on internal medicine with other rotations in cardiology, neurology, oncology, nutrition, emergency/critical care, radiology, ultrasound, and clinical pathology. Elective rotations may include other services within the hospital or out-rotations at referral hospitals, other colleges, or human hospitals. Additional organized rounds and seminars include daily SAM rounds, weekly SAM journal club, and weekly Medicine Seminars. Much more detail may be found on the program website listed below.
