Foreign Graduate Applicant Information

Foreign veterinary graduates can apply to the VIRMP without having completed the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination; however, some programs listed by the VIRMP require completion of the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination. It is in the applicant's best interest to contact each institution/private practice to which they intend to apply to determine the examination and licensure requirements.

It is the responsibility of the applicant to determine if there are immigration, visa, or state licensing requirements that would preclude participation in an internship or residency program listed by the VIRMP. Please check with the United States or Canadian Consul/Embassy in the location nearest your home for details.
